Orlando Hard Rock Review
Thursday, November 30, 2006
We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel from 15 November - 20 November, and I can honestly say it was the best hotel I have stayed in, in my entire life.
Check in was almost instant - none of the problems which I have read on here. We were given a room on the 4th floor, and considering it was the cheapest room you can buy, it was massive - pleanty of space for the two of us, two large double beds and a very spacious bathroom, with an extra sink. It had been recently rennovated and included a large flatscreen TV (American news rules!)
The room was exceptionally clean, and was serviced every day with fresh towels, and Hard Rock Hotel soap (which we 'stole' a few of). No complaints with the room whatsoever. The staff were extremely friendly - much friendlier than UK staff - always smiling, and wishing you a nice day, and very knowledgable of the area when we asked where the nearest shops, restaurants and Walmart were.
I didn't use the pool, so I can't really comment on that, though I did see ducks swimming in it in the morning - apparantly not a rare site. They came right up to us too - how sweet!
The room keys were like Willy Wonka's golden tickets - show them in the parks and you're whisked to the front of the line - on the Hulk ride, we literally walked straight into the seat of the rollercoaster - literally didn't stop walking until we were sat. The longest we waited in across both parks was 10 minutes on Men in Black - but this was only because it had broken down! These cards are worth the price of the room alone.
Perfect in every way - almost. There was only one slight hiccup which could have been a lot more problematic than it actually was...basically you can use your keycard to buy products in the park (and have them sent straight to your room so you don't have to carry them round the park) - to do this, they charge your card $300 to do this (just in case you do a runner I guess). We declined this service, but they still charged us. If we didn't have the money we would have gone overdrawn and could have been pretty nasty. We noticed this on our bill and questionned it. They admitted it was an error and apologised for it. This is the only fault of the entire trip, but it wasn't enough to give it any less than five stars for excellent. Top marks for the Hard Rock Hotel.
